Urology Care by the APN/PA: Maximizing Patient Outcomes


This program will cover a variety of topics for the urology multidisciplinary team directed at the advanced practice nurse, nurse and physician assistant. This year’s topics will include managing incidental findings on routine imaging, female sexual dysfunction, catheters and catheter acquired urinary tract infections (CAUTI) and evaluating and managing BPH. This program is approved for 4.0 contact hour(s) of continuing education by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.  Program ID 1402071. This program was planned in accordance with AANP CE Standards and Policies and AANP Commercial Support Standards.

Upon completion of this program, attendees should be able to:

  • Identify ways to manage incidental findings from routine imaging
  • Describe common categories of female sexual dysfunction and treatment options for these problems
  • Identify the evidence for practice in regards to the use of urinary catheters and catheter acquired urinary tract infections
  • Describe the process for evaluating and managing BPH
