Dr. Tessier is a practicing urologist in Manchester, NH, and has been active in the AUA serving on various committees and panels. He currently serves as Chair of the AUA’s Quality Improvement and Patient Safety Committee, and oversees all efforts of the AUA’s national quality agenda. He has represented the AUA on several national quality initiatives, including CMS’ Surgical Care Improvement Project (SCIP), the AMA-convened Physician Consortium for Performance Improvement (PCPI), and CMS’ Value-based Modifier (VBM) payment plan.
He attended medical school at Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia and received both his general surgery and urology residency training at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. He completed postgraduate training in Medical Informatics from the Oregon Health & Science University, and is involved in several AUA initiatives to translate knowledge content from the urologic domain into electronic form for clinical decision support and quality reporting purposes.
